You Should Lead a Group Ride - Free Webinar to Get You Started!
I signed up for Team in Training on a whim. I had always wanted to do a triathlon but had never had the time. At age 35 I found myself brokenhearted, jobless and living in a new city at my parent’s house. I had been through a lot in the past few years. Failure, a broken relationship, depression. I had lost my confidence and I wondered if life would ever be ‘normal’ again.
So I signed up for a triathlon and showed up to a group ride. I was completely out of my element but a mentor took me under her wing and that day started me on a journey that changed my life. 18-months after that first group ride I had finished an Ironman, built an incredible community, found a new career path, and bought a home I loved. Much of the growth and change that happened in my life came out of long bike rides on country roads in the middle of nowhere Georgia.
I’ve had several women reach out to me in the past few weeks asking about leading group rides. It’s exciting and intimidating to start leading your first group ride. All of the questions go through your mind. What if no one shows up? What if we got lost? What if no one has fun? What if I fall off my bike (which by the way has happened to me at least 3 group rides that I’ve led).
Often we feel that tug in our hearts…the one that says we could fill a gap or that there’s a need and maybe we’re the person to answer it but we ignore it. Our doubts, our insecurities, and our busy lives get in the way. But what if your group ride was the catalyst that changed someone else’s life?
To help you get started, I’m hosting a free webinar on how to lead a group ride on November 6th at 12:30 EST. In this 45-minute session we’ll cover topics like:
Why YOU should start a group ride
Planning Your Group Ride
Promoting Your Group Ride
Preparing for the Oh Sh*t Moments
Every registered participant will get a Ride Leader Quick Start Guide with checklists, ideas for promoting your ride, and links to great resources.
The webinar will be recorded so even if this doesn’t work in your lunch break, register to get the recording.
